
Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct. 09: The Literary Club, Department of English, JNRM, successfully organised Expressions 2026, a week-long literary and cultural programme, at the college. The event provided a platform for students from various departments to showcase their creativity, literary skills and talents through a range of competitions and performances.
Dr. Kusum Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of English, coordinated the programme. The event commenced with a welcome address by her, while Dr. Pearl Devdas, Principal, JNRM, delivered an address titled “The Voice That Inspires,” emphasising the importance of literary and creative activities in students’ overall development.
The week-long programme featured competitions such as Sell the Impossible, Stories of India, Quiz, Logo Designing, Debate, Spell Bee, Global Stories, Trash to Treasure, Spin the Wheel and Poem Recitation. The activities encouraged students to explore literature, develop communication and critical-thinking skills, and express their ideas through creative and interactive formats.
The programme included presentations inspired by mythology, fantasy and contemporary culture, with highlights such as “Rise of the Guardians,” “Game of Thrones,” “The Stolen Future,” “Aetheria: Crossing the Nine Realms,” “The Saga of Shukracharya”, “The Fall of Panchvati” and “a Cosplay” presentation further enriched the event.
The Star Student of the Year segment recognised student talent, followed by a prize distribution ceremony. Ms. D. Khushi and Ms. A. Leena compered the programme, while Ms. Amina Khatoon delivered the vote of thanks.
Expressions 2026 was more than a literary fest; it was a space where ideas met, stories travelled, and words came alive, bringing together students from diverse departments through creativity, literature and artistic expression.
