Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 01: As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram organised two important initiatives on 30 September 2026 at the Panchayat Bhawan premises—“Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir” and an Environmental Plantation Drive. The programmes were led by Mr. Venkateswar Rao, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram, with the participation of around 20 community members and local personnel.
The Safai Mitra Suraksha Evam Samman Shivir focused on the health, safety and welfare of sanitation workers. Conducted in coordination with medical personnel from the Health & Wellness Centre, Betapur, the camp provided health check-ups and awareness on personal hygiene, preventive healthcare and safe working practices.
During the interactive session, medical officials sensitised Safai Mitras about maintaining good physical and mental health, undergoing regular health check-ups and following safety measures while performing sanitation duties.
Alongside the health camp, an Environmental Plantation Drive was conducted at the grazing land adjoining the Panchayat Bhawan to promote environmental sustainability, enhance green cover and encourage community participation.
Speaking on the occasion, Pradhan Mr. Venkateswar Rao emphasised that Swachhata Hi Seva is not limited to cleanliness but also recognises the valuable contribution of Safai Mitras and promotes a cleaner, healthier and greener Shivapuram for future generations.
