CFO Nallah, Middle Andaman, Jun 28: On 26th June 2013 a Token Strike was conducted by the students of CFO Nallah Secondary School, under the guidance of their Parents and leadership of Pradhan, Shivapuram Panchayat. The main demand for which the strike was conducted was to upgrade CFO Nallah Secondary School to Senior Secondary School.
Although a Senior Secondary School is available at Swadeshnagar which is run by Administration, but that School only has Hindi & Bengali Medium for Arts stream and science stream is taught only in English Medium.
The students during the strike explained that those students who study in English Medium from Cass I to Class X level and do not get admission in Science Stream they have no choice left than to study in Hindi Medium, because from Baratang to Diglipur there is no school which offers Arts in English Medium.
The students urged the Director of Education to intervene in this regard and threatened to go for further agitation if nothing is done.
