
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 24: North & Middle Andaman Police continued their sustained enforcement drive against illicit activities, with three significant operations conducted in recent days.
On 31.08.2026, the team of OP Bakultala under PS Rangat, conducted a jungle search at Kalsi and recovered approx. 165 litres of illicit Lehan, which was subsequently destroyed as per procedure, and on 03.09.2026, the team of OP Badam Nallah under PS Billiground, conducted a search in the dense forest area of Govindapur and recovered approx. 200 litres of illicit Lehan, which was also destroyed on the spot as per procedure.
In another operation on 03.09.2026, the team of OP Badam Nallah intercepted a person at Basantipur and recovered approx. 7 kgs of suspected Barking Deer meat from his possession. The person, along with the seized meat, was handed over to the Forest Department for necessary legal action under the relevant provision of Wildlife (Protection) Act.
The general public is requested to pass and share any credible information pertaining to any crime or illegal activities to their nearest Police Station or through 100 or 112 or the nearest police station. Informants’ identities will be kept confidential, and suitable rewards will be provided for actionable information.
