Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 30: For enhancing the professional capabilities of Police personnel engaged in close protection and security duties, the Andaman & Nicobar Police, in collaboration with HQ CPF, NSG, Manesar, conducted a specialized PSO & Tactical Driving Course at Sri Vijaya Puram from 17th to 28th August 2026.
A total of 72 PSOs and 30 drivers participated in the training, covering VIP security, close protection, vehicle control, parking principles, safe/tactical driving and other operational aspects. The programme was conducted by an expert NSG team led by Mr. Sahi Ram, NSG Officer, through lectures, demonstrations and practical exercises.
Mr. Ravindra Singh Yadav, IPS, DGP, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, expressed appreciation to the NSG and all stakeholders for facilitating the training and emphasized its role in enhancing professional competence, operational preparedness and VIP security capabilities.
The programme was conceptualized and coordinated by Mrs. Shweta Sugathan, IPS, Commandant, IRBn, and conducted under her guidance and supervision, reflecting the commitment of Andaman & Nicobar Police towards continuous professional development and adoption of best practices.
