Sri Vijaya Puram, Aug 30: As part of the celebration of National Sports Day 2026, the Deputy Education Office, Wimberlygunj, conducted Inter-School Table Tennis, Badminton, Hockey and Road Race events in various categories for Boys and Girls of the Wimberlygunj Educational Zone from 19th to 29th August 2026.
The finale of the celebrations organised at the Mini Stadium, Wimberlygunj, commenced with the floral tribute and garlanding of the portrait of Hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand. The tributes were paid by Mrs. Sulekha, Vice Principal, Mr. Venkat Ram Babu, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Wimberlygunj, and Mr. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Kanyapuram.
A grand prize distribution ceremony was organised, wherein winners and outstanding young athletes were felicitated and presented with medals, certificates and trophies in recognition of their exceptional achievements throughout the 10-day sporting event.
