Sri Vijaya Puram, August 6: The District Administration, South Andaman, has issued a traffic advisory announcing temporary vehicular movement restrictions in Sri Vijaya Puram on August 8 and 9, 2026, in view of a forthcoming VVIP visit. The restrictions have been imposed to ensure the safe, secure, and smooth movement of the VVIP convoy.
According to the advisory issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, South Andaman, traffic regulations will remain in force on specific routes during designated hours on both days.
On Saturday, August 8, traffic restrictions will be enforced from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm and again from 2:30 pm to 7:00 pm. The affected routes include VIP Road and Cellular Jail Road.
On Sunday, August 9, restrictions will be in place from 7:30 am to 11:45 am and from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm. The routes affected during this period are Marina Park Road up to Flag Point, VIP Road, Dollygunj Road up to DBRAIT, and Phoenix Bay Jetty Road.
The District Administration has appealed to the general public to avoid using these routes during the specified timings and to opt for alternate routes wherever possible to minimize inconvenience and facilitate smooth traffic management.
Emergency services, including ambulances and fire tenders, will be allowed to operate on the regulated routes during the restriction period.
Citizens have also been requested to cooperate with the traffic police and follow the directions of personnel deployed on duty to ensure the successful conduct of the VVIP visit.
