Sri Vijaya Puram, July 28:The Department of AH&VS organised a series of Veterinary Health Camps in Little Andaman on 27th and 28th July, 2026 covering the areas of Break Water, Ongi Tikery and Harminder Bay. The camps were aimed at providing doorstep veterinary services to farmers and tribal communities in the remote areas of the island.
On 27th July 2026, a health camp was conducted at Break Water, Hut Bay wherein, a total of 253 animals were treated. On 28th July, 2026, two separate health camps were organised. At Ongi Tikery, Hut Bay, a total of 249 animals received treatment. On the same day, another health camp was held at Harminder Bay, wherein 517 animals were treated.
In total, 1,019 animals were provided treatment and healthcare services during these three camps. The veterinary teams carried out general health check-ups, treatment of sick animals, deworming and other necessary interventions to improve the overall health and productivity of livestock.
