
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 16: The District Administration, South Andaman, in its sustained efforts to safeguard public assets and ensure the lawful utilization of Government land, has intensified its drive against unauthorized occupations and illegal encroachments across the district. As part of this ongoing initiative, strict surveillance and regular monitoring are being undertaken to identify and remove encroachments, thereby restoring valuable public land for community use and future developmental purposes.
A major eviction drive was carried out today at Nayashar village. The Revenue officials with crucial support from the Police Department removed an under construction RCC structure unauthorisedly erected was demolished with the assistance of excavators.
The eviction team also removed several other forms of encroachments, including illegal land plotting activities. Approximately 50 cemented boundary pillars erected were dismantled during the operation. As a result of the drive, nearly 7,000 square metres of Government land were successfully reclaimed and restored to the Government Khata.
Residents are strongly urged to refrain from unauthorized occupations, as stringent legal action will be taken against violators. To strengthen public participation in this initiative, the District Administration, South Andaman has provided multiple avenues for reporting encroachments or illegal constructions.
