
Sri Vijaya Puram, June 16: Continuing the spirit of youth participation and nation-building, a delegation of young representatives from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands has embarked on two prestigious national programmes organized under the aegis of MY Bharat (Mera Yuva Bharat), Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
As part of the Viksit Bharat National Youth Parliament 2026, Ms. Disha Singh and Ms. R. Sanjana, students of Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE), represented the Union Territory at Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi, during 16–17 June 2026. The programme brought together youth leaders from across the country to deliberate on issues of national importance under the theme “Nari Shakti Vandan: Catalysing Inclusivity and Viksit Bharat 2047.”
Further, a nine-member youth delegation from the Islands was formally seen off today from Veer Savarkar International Airport, Sri Vijaya Puram, for participation in the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme (VVVP) – 2026, scheduled to be held at Leh-Ladakh from 18 to 25 June 2026.
The members of the delegation are:

3. Khushbu Rathore – Andaman College (ANCOL)
4. Tanzeela Arif – Andaman Law College (ALC)

6. Promit Sarkar – Andaman Law College (ALC)
7. Subir Das – Primary School Teacher
8. Bikram Paul – Industrial Training Institute (ITI)
9. T. Nasiha Waheed – Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)
On the occasion of the flag-off ceremony, Dr. Manjulata Rao, Principal, Tagore Government College of Education (TGCE) and Dr. P. V. N. Sarma, Principal, Andaman Law College, were present and motivated the youth participants to represent the Islands with dedication and pride.
Mr. Sukha Ranjan Biswas, Joint Director, MY Bharat, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, briefed the participants on discipline, safety measures, and the importance of being ambassadors of the Islands during the programme. Mr. Gopal Ch Biswas, APS, MY Bharat, also interacted with the participants and advised them to maintain discipline, decorum and uphold the values of responsible citizenship throughout the event.
The programme also received valuable support from Dr. Sunil Saini, Assistant Professor, TGCE, and Dr. Sunita Patil, Guest Faculty, TGCE, who extended their guidance and assistance to the participants during the preparations and departure.
The Viksit Vibrant Village Programme (VVVP) aims to promote leadership, volunteerism, national integration, experiential learning and active youth participation in nation-building activities aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
The MY Bharat team has conveyed its best wishes to all the participants and expressed confidence that they will represent the Andaman & Nicobar Islands with distinction and serve as worthy ambassadors of the Union Territory at the national level.
