
Ramnagar, December 03: The Block Project Office of Samagra Shiksha, Diglipur (Inclusive Education) under the leadership of Smti. Sulochana, Block Project Officer, Diglipur successfully organized an Exposure visit to Ramnagar Beach, Diglipur on the occasion of ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2025’. The programme was organised in collaboration with INS Kohassa, Diglipur and the Indian Coast Guard,Diglipur marking a historic milestone for the Diglipur Educational Zone.
The programme opened with inspirational messages shared by Shri. Manoranjan Mandal, Internal Observer and CRC Coordinator, GSSS Kalighat and Dr. Shipra Mistry from CHC Diglipur. Subsequently, Shri. M Sanjeev Kumar, Forester shared some key facts about Ramnagar Beach.
A major highlight of the event was the distribution of wheelchair to 05 CwSN students, based on recommendations from recent Samagra Shiksha assessment camp under the Inclusive Education programme. For the first time, a temporary accessibility ramp made up of eco-friendly materials was designed by the Forest Department, enabling wheelchair-using Children with Special Needs (CwSNs) to safely and comfortably access the seawater. This pioneering initiative symbolised a significant step toward enhancing accessibility and creating inclusive public spaces, especially for Children with Special Needs. The arrangements at the beach were meticulously coordinated by Dr. S H K Murthi, IFS Divisional Forest Officer Diglipur, Shri. Shivendra, Assistant Conservator Forest, Shri. G Govind Raj, Forest Ranger and Shri. M Sanjay Kumar, Forester (Kalighat). To ensure the wellbeing of all participants, a dedicated medical team led by Dr. Shipra Mistry from PHC Kalighat remained on standby throughout the event.
Various recreational and sensory activities, including sand play, tug-of-war, coral finding, sweet collection, etc. Prizes were awarded to the winners of their respective events. The event concluded on a positive note, where the parents and teachers expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the thoughtful & inclusive arrangements made by the organisers. The celebration not only promoted awareness, but also showcased the community’s commitment towards creating accessible environments and equal opportunities for all children.
The overall coordination of the programme was efficiently managed by Ms. Rakhi Kabiraj BRP (CwSN), along with the Inclusive Education team of BPO Diglipur. Ms. N. Riya Nandan, PSRT delivered the vote of thanks.
