Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 05: Reading and Essay Writing Competitions were organized at the Zonal Library, Wimberlygunj today to promote reading habits, comprehension skills, effective communication, and to strengthen the library’s role as a hub of learning among students. Category I (Classes VI–VIII): Reading Competition and Category II (Classes IX–XII): Essay Writing Competition were held on the topic ‘The Role of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Indian Freedom Movement.’
About 31 students participated in the Reading Competition and 18 students in the Essay Competition, representing various schools of Wimberlygunj Zone.
The Deputy Education Officer, Wimberlygunj, Dr. Manoharan as the chief guest encouraged students to make full use of the library for better learning and self-development. The programme was successfully conducted under the supervision of Mr. N. K. Hamsa, In-charge, Zonal Library, Wimberlygunj.
