Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 29: As part of the observance of Swachhata Seva Fortnight, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram organized a cleanliness drive at RRO Beach near Fishermen Colony on September 29. The drive saw the participation of Panchayat Pradhan Mr. Venkateswar Rao, Up-Pradhan Smti. D. Adi Luxmi, PRI members, CRPs, members of Self Help Groups, office staff, sanitation workers, and local fishermen volunteers. In total, 54 participants actively joined the activity.
Pradhan Mr. Venkateswar Rao welcomed all participants and expressed his gratitude for their contribution towards the noble cause. He especially thanked the fishermen community for sparing their valuable time and participating in the drive.
During the campaign, around 42 kg of segregated waste was collected from the site and transported to the SWM Cluster Shivapuram for further processing.
The drive was organized under the overall coordination and supervision of Mr. Mohammed Heneef, Panchayat Secretary, Gram Panchayat Shivapuram.
