
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept. 27:The Directorate of Health Services, in association with the Department of Social Welfare and Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, organized a Multispeciality Health Camp yesterday at the Community Hall, Mannarghat under PHC Wimberlygunj, as part of the ongoing Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar (SNSP) Abhiyan.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the chief guest, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Bishnu Pada Ray. Dr. Suja Antony, Director of Health Services, Dr. H. M. Siddaraju, Deputy Director (FW) / Joint Secretary (RCH-II), Smt. Sajjida Banu, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, and Shri Nophal, Up-Pradhan were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Hon’ble MP highlighted the need for greater attention towards addressing health challenges such as anaemia, Tuberculosis (TB), and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among women. He encouraged school children to participate in anaemia screening and highlighted the importance of a nutritious diet in combating anaemia. He also urged women to take full advantage of the screening services for anaemia, hypertension, diabetes, and oral cancer provided during the camp.
The Deputy Director (FW)/ Joint Secretary (RCH-II), presented a Power Point presentation detailing the various screening procedures and health interventions being undertaken under the SNSP Abhiyan.
A range of specialized healthcare services was offered during the camp, including consultations by Gynaecologist, Paediatrician, ENT specialist, Dental Surgeon, as well as NCD, TB, anaemia, and sickle-cell screening. Sessions on menstrual hygiene and women’s nutrition were also conducted. In collaboration with ICDS, Anganwadi workers (AWWs) displayed a food basket and healthy recipes to promote better dietary practices.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, cultural programmes were organized by the Gram Panchayat Mannarghat, featuring performances by children from schools and Anganwadi Centres who showcased their talents.
A total of 147 beneficiaries availed the services during the camp, making the event a successful example of community participation and convergence of services.
The SNSP Abhiyan at Mannarghat was celebrated in a spirit of health awareness and festivity, reinforcing the commitment to empower women and improve family health in the region.
