Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 28: On 26th September 2025, the North & Middle Andaman District Police launched the SP Cup Football Tournament–2025 with great enthusiasm at Netaji Stadium, Mayabunder. The event was graced by Smt. Lata Hegde Prasad, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Mayabunder, as Chief Guest, and the Inspr. Abdul Sajid SHO, PS Mayabunder, as Guest of Honour, whose presence added dignity and inspiration to the occasion.
This year’s tournament features 12 spirited teams competing in a series of thrilling matches. The opening day saw Home Brothers vs. Wadow, followed by Karmatang Young Boys vs. PSC, both encounters showcasing exceptional skill, discipline, and determination.
With over 200 enthusiastic spectators, the stadium reverberated with cheer and excitement, creating an electrifying atmosphere that boosted players’ morale and elevated the competitive spirit.
Beyond the excitement on the field, the SP Cup–2025 aspires to elevate football as a thriving sport in the region, strengthen community bonds, identify and nurture emerging talent, and inspire the youth to embrace fitness, discipline, and purposeful living.
