Port Blair, Jul 29: The Andaman Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President Mr. Rangalal Halder, has addressed a letter to the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, urges for compensation and support to the victims of the devastating fire accident that occurred on the night of July 27, 2024, at the Labourers Barracks of the Electricity Department in Sitanagar, Diglipur.
In his letter, He said that the fire, which completely gutted eight houses, has left approximately 25 members of the affected families in a state of severe distress and uncertainty. The victims have lost their hard-earned items and are currently facing significant hardships.
Mr. Halder emphasized the urgent need for immediate and adequate compensation to help the victims rebuild their lives and recover from this tragic incident. The key requests outlined in the letter include: Immediate Financial Assistance, Compensation for Loss of Property and Necessary support and resources to help the victims cope with the emotional and psychological trauma caused by the incident.
Mr. Halder further urged the Lieutenant Governor to take prompt and effective measures to ensure that the affected families receive the necessary support and compensation accurately.
