Port Blair, June 11: In a strange incident the fiber boat owners of Shaheed Dweep awoke this morning to find that the ropes securing their fiber boats had been cut, leaving all fiber boats adrift in the sea. The incident, believed to have occurred around 2 AM, early this morning, resulted in several boats suffering damage as they drifted and hit underwater rocks with the waves.
Boat operators, taken by surprise, immediately lodged a complaint with the local police against unknown individuals, demanding a thorough investigation into the matter. This act of sabotage has raised serious concerns among the island’s boat operators, who are now facing significant operational challenges.
According to the boat owners, this incident is not isolated. A month ago, another fiber boat went missing under mysterious circumstances and was never recovered. The recent sabotage has exacerbated the situation, severely impacting tourist services on the island. Tourists have been heavily inconvenienced as boat operators struggle to provide their usual services amidst the chaos.
The fiber boat owners have expressed their frustration, stating that such incidents are detrimental to the tourism industry on Shaheed Dweep. They urged the authorities to take swift action to prevent further harm and ensure the safety and security of their vessels.
