Port Bair, Feb 14: Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma in his letter addressed to Mr Som Naidu, Director (CS & CA) has requested him for delivery of Gas Cylinders through trucks to the residents of Shoal Bay.
He also informed the director that delivery of Gas Cylinders through trucks are being undertaken till Right Mayo and beyond that the delivery is not undertaken to the door steps of people because of which the people of Shol Bay are felling isolated and they have to face many difficulties and bare the extra charges of hiring a private vehicle to bring home gas cylinders.
Mr. Sharma added that most of the residents feel distressed for not having the correct date and time of arrival of truck bringing gas to their nearby station because of which they waste their money and time for getting gas cylinders. Mr. Sharma also requested the director to take up the issue soon and help the needy residents of Shol Bay area in getting Gas Cylinder at their door steps which is their basic need.
The residents of Shol Bay area had conveyed their problem to the PCC Supremo in the Gram Panchayat meeting which Mr. Sharma attended on request by AR Kumar, Pradhan, Shol Bay, Gram Panchayat.
Further in the meeting Miss. Rani a social worker had requested PCC President for arranging for loans for the SHG’s of women to enable them to take up goat rearing and earn for their family upon which the President, PCC directed her to contact the nearby branch of Andaman and Nicobar State Co-operative Bank or to talk to Mr. Murugan, the General Manager, Andaman and Nicobar State Co-operative Bank who was also present on the occasion.
Further Mr. Sharma has expressed happiness that the rural women want to become self employed and earn for their families.
