Port Blair, Jan 14: The National Youth Day and Week from 12/01/2024 to 19/01/2024 is being celebrated in collaboration with local administration, Nancowrie, village councils and youth clubs at different villages of Kamorta and Nancowrie Islands.
On 12th January, 2024 the Nehru Yuva Kendra, Kamorta celebrated National Youth Day at EOC, Hall in which 75 youths from different villages participated. On the occasion Mr. Anuj, DANICS, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowrie was the chief guest and he garlanded to the portrait of Swami Vivekananda alongwith Mrs. Aysha Masjid, CTC, Nancowrie and other captains. Participants also paid floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda on the occasion. Miss Jackline, a youth from Chota Enaka village highlighted about the life and message of Swami Vivekananda. The youth of Champin village and Chota Enaka village presented cultural programmes to grace the occasion. The chief guest in his address said we should inspire from Swami vivkeananda teaching to focus the target.
Further, Mrs. Narmadha, Branch Manager, SBI, Nancowrie delivered speech on Svanidhi Scheme to generate awareness among youths.
Later on live screening of PM address on the occasion of opening ceremony of National Youth Festival, 2024 held at Nashik, Maharashtra was shown to the gathering.
Mr. Alphonce Toppo, Deputy Director (OSD), NYK, Kamorta proposed a vote of thanks to all.
