Port Blair, Feb 04: Once again the CID team has recovered elephant tusk from Islands. In a fresh case four persons have been arrested from Garacharma area yesterday when they were trying to sell an elephant tusk to a buyer.
According to eye witnesses, a team of seven people were trying to sell Elephant Tusk to someone in Garacharma, when CID team reached the spot. While three managed to escape, rest four were apprehended by the CID team. The recovered elephant tusk measuring 1 mtr in length has a weight of 7 KG.
Reports suggest that even the Zoological Survey of India has certified that the seized materials were Elephant Tusk. All four accused were handed over to Forest Department for further inquiry.
