Port Blair, Dec 05: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker has expressed concern over the safety of Islander students who are stuck in various college hostels of Chennai due to the severe cyclonic weather and subsequent heavy rain which has created a flood like situation.
In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration, Mr. Bhasker has requested the A&N Administration to provide adequate measures to bring the stranded students to a safer place.
Mr. Bhasker said that Chennai is reeling under severe cyclonic weather influence and many places have been inundated for the past few days.
“Our students staying in various college hostels of Chennai are not getting even regular food supply in the hostel and are suffering for basic needs”, added Mr. Bhasker.
Hence, Mr. Bhasker has requested the Chief Secretary to immediately ensure the safety and security of these students by bringing them to the Andaman Guest House where they can get food and comfort. This will bring respite to their families who are worried about their well-being.
