Port Blair, Oct 17: The Hindi fortnight has been observed on 17th Oct 2023, in the Institute in a befitting manner. In line with the notification form GOI and Official language Cell of A & N Administration, DBRAIT has implemented use of Hindi in the daily official activities to a large scale. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Utpal Sharma, Principal DBRAIT highlighted the importance of Hindi, as a notional language as well as a language for exchanging both day today activities and social activities. The importance of the Hindi Language followed with its history of the Hindi fortnight was highlighted during the session by Dr. S. Raji, Lecturer (Civil). A deliberation on adoption of Hindi as an official language was also done during the closing session.
To further strengthen and promote the usage of the national language, various competitions like noting and drafting, Hindi Typing competitions and Hindi Essay competition for students and staff were organized to promote interest and motivate the staff in the official language. The winners and participants of the competition were awarded cash prizes and certificates during the concluding function. The event ended with votes of thanks by Dr. Deepanshu Singh, Lecturer (Hotel Management.)
