Port Blair, Mar 26: India reaffirms its commitment towards ensuring a TB-free society said the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi addressing ‘One World TB Summit’ in Varanasi today on the occasion of World TB Day. In a function held at Dr. BR Ambedkar Auditorium, Port Blair Islands also observed the World TB day in a befitting manner along with rest of the country with the theme “Yes! We Can End TB”. In order to achieve the Goal of TB Mukh Bharat by 2025, GoI had launched community support to TB patients under Pradhan Mantri TB Mukth Abhiyan to register as Nikshay Mitras and provided support to TB patients. Mr. M. P. Abdul Rasheed as Nikshay Mitra was also felicitated along with its team of Ration Rasheed Foundation by Mr. Nikhil Kumar, Comm-cum Secretary (Health), A&N Administration in presence of Mr. Arjun Sharma, Secretary (Health) and Officers of Directorate of Health Services.
