Port Blair, Mar 26: The ANTCC Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker on Saturday took part in the inaugural function of Smash Arena Badminton Championship as ‘Guest of Honour’ in an opening ceremony event held at Smash Arena Badminton Court, Haddo.
The Chief Guest of the event was Mr. C.S Ashok, Director of Makruzz and a sports fanatic. Many enthusiastic players from the entire Islands took part in the event. The championship is being played in Under 11 category, Under 15 category for boys & girls and an open category for men & women respectively.
Mr. Ashok enlightened the participants about the benefits of maintaining physical fitness and said the main aim of the championship is to develop the overall standards of our young generation to increase their potential. He also encouraged the participants to play well.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhasker said that this championship will provide an opportunity for the shuttlers and sport enthusiasts of the Nation to witness the games of our Islander youths on a professional level and will also provide exposure to the local players from A&N Islands.
