Port Blair, Dec 23: A man strangled his wife to death in Ram Niwas lodge of Port Blair, early Sunday morning over an extra marital affair. The deceased, Mrs. Neetu Day, aged 25 years was a resident of 24 Paragana District of West Bengal but was presently living in Havelock with her Husband and daughter.
According to sources, Neetu had developed an extra marital affair with a resident of Havelock. Her husband, Sanatan Mandal, 30 years, recently got to know about Neetu’s affair and since then the couple were having frequent quarrels. It is learnt that the boyfriend of Neetu had recently threatened Neetu’s Husband, which left Sanatan fuming.
According to reports, today morning also a quarrel broke up, which resulted in the murder of Neetu. Neetu had a nine year old daughter, who was present inside the room of the lodge, when she was murdered.
Later Sanatan, surrendered himself to Police. A murder case has already been registered in this regard and further investigation is on.
