Port Blair, Feb 26: The Nehru Yuva Kendra Port Blair recently organized a successful volleyball tournament at Panighat, aimed at promoting fitness, competitive spirit and sportsmanship among the youth. The tournament, held on 10th and 12th February 2023, was organized in association with the Gram Panchayat of Hope Town and Zilla Parishad Member of BambooFlat, and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Port Blair and Maharashtra Mandal, Port Blair. The tournament was also supported by the With You NGO.
The tournament consisted of separate matches between Port Blair Block teams Pool A and Bambooflat Block teams Pool B, which were held on 11th February 2023 at JNRM Ground and 12th February 2023 at Panighat Ground. The final match was played on 25th February 2023 between the blocks winner team Mithakhari Youth Club and JNRM team.
Mrs. Pramila Kumari, Adhakshya, Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, graced the final match as the Chief Guest. She spoke about the benefits of playing sports and how it can contribute to the overall development of youths.
