Port Blair, Feb 09: D Charvi, a class II student of VKV Lambaline, a young budding chess player from A & N islands brings laurel to islands by winning the First Prize in Under 07 Girls category in the Little England 4th International FIDE Rating Below 1600 Chess Tournament 2023 held in Hosur, Tamil Nadu from 06/02/2023 to 08/02/2023.
Around 370 players from India & abroad participated in the event in which four young Chess players from A & N Islands including D Charvi and three other chess players viz GalavShah & P MidhunVettaiyaar of Carmel Sr. Sec. School Port Blair and ChittiboinaMageswari of Govt.Model Sr.Sec.School Port Blair took part in the tournament and did well.
