Port Blair, Dec 18: The Army Component of the Andaman & Nicobar Command organised a demonstration on ‘Survival Technique in the Tropical Jungles’ for the troops of the Command. The demonstration was conducted by a team of qualified troops of 154 Infantry Battalion (TA) BIHAR. The Commander in Chief Andaman and Nicobar Command Air Marshal PK Roy, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal, Vayu Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal, witnessed the said demonstration and complimented the Army Component for a professional and an educative demonstration.
The demonstration covered all aspects of jungle survival specific to the tropical jungles of Andaman and Nicobar Island. It covered various aspects of collecting food & water in jungles to enable the personnels of defence forces to survive in times of need. Also information was given about various edible & poisonous plants found in these jungles. Finally the demonstration concluded with display of “Snake Handling Skills” which was appreciated by all.
