Port Blair, Dec 04: Mr. AjoyBairagi State President BJP, A & N Islands has jotted down a letter to the Chief Secretary A & N Administration, Secretariat, Port Blair on 2nd Dec laying emphasis on allotment of an additional Quarry at Diglipur.
He said in his letter that, there are a lot of developmental works of the government as well as private agencies are being hampered and are pending due to non-availability of sufficient quarry products. This existing quarry doesn’t have sufficient quarry products and is not in a position to meet the demand of all the departmental activities.
He further said in his letter that the existing quarry is very old and from which extraction of quarry products has been happening for more than the last 30 years. To scale up the quarry products, Mr. Bairagi urged the CS to consider allotting a parcel of forest and revenue land which is suitably available adjacent to the existing quarry where quarry materials are in abundance. If the supplementary quarry is allotted then all the pending developmental works can be taken up, and at the same time, it will solve the problems being faced by the general public in Diglipur and in the entire North Middle Andaman District.
