Port Blair, Dec 04: Together with the rest of the country, ‘International Day of Disabled Persons’ was observed today by PANKH NGO in association with the Directorate of Social Welfare at Divyang Home, Abhyudaya Complex, Ferrargunj. Mrs. Smitha R, IAS, Secretary (Social Welfare) was the chief guest on the occasion. In her address, she expressed her happiness for organizing such a colorful programme befitting the occasion. She also interacted with the inmates of Old Age Home and Children Home.
The cultural and musical programme was organized by Mrs. Komal Anand, Founder President (PANKH). Prizes and gifts were presented to the inmates of Divyang Home. Earlier, Mr. AK Biswas, In-charge Abhyudaya Complex, Ferrargunj welcomed the gathering. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Ramya Bibi, PO.
