Port Blair, Nov. 18: Under the provisions contained in ‘Andaman & Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant-in-aid to Local Cultural organizations’ notified vide Admn.’s Notification dated 3rd September 2018, applications were invited from interested local Cultural Organizations of A&N Islands for financial assistance in the form of Grant in Aid published on 18.06.2022, to promote activities pertaining to Art & Culture, National Integration, Communal Harmony, Brotherhood etc. The Cultural Organizations were asked to submit their applications with the relevant details and supporting documents. In response to this, 13 cultural Organizations from South Andaman District have submitted their applications.
The applications of Cultural Associations have been scrutinized by the Scrutiny Committee constituted dated 26th February 2015 based on provisions of ‘Andaman and Nicobar Islands Rules for Grant in Aid to Local Cultural Organizations’ and the supporting documents which include Audited Statement, Annual Report, Utilization Certificate etc. for the previous grant. The Committee after examining the details of activities undertaken by the cultural associations recommended for release of GIA @ Rs.25000/- each to the following 13 Local Cultural Associations for the year 2022-23.

In this connection, the Directorate of Art & Culture has invited claims, objections or suggestions if any against the said list within a period of 7 days from the date of publication which may be sent to the Director (Art & Culture), Cellular Jail Complex, Atlanta Point, Port Blair. The list of Cultural Organizations shall be finalized after consideration of the objections and suggestions, if any.
