Port Blair, Dec 11: In 2011, the Ministry of Finance has approved the cadre restructuring of Clerical Cadre accordingly 30% of the Lower Grade clerks have been upgraded to Higher Grade Clerk in the Grade of Pay of Rs. 2800/- per month.
The Andaman and Nicobar Administration though has upgraded 30% of the clerical staff but while restructuring the clerical staff it has fixed the grade pay at Rs. 2400/- per month causing a loss of Rs 400/- per month in the Grade pay of HGC .
Hence, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, President, PCC who is also Patron of Andaman and Nicobar Clerical Cadre Welfare Association along with a delegation of the aggrieved personnel and ANCCWA’s President Mr. Abdul Siddique met with the Chief Secretary, Anand Prakash and briefed him about the whole episode and requested him to grant the grade pay of Rs. 2800/- to HGCs with retrospective effect so that these cadre don’t feel them neglected and will boost up their confidence and working efficiency.
Further, Mr. Sharma has also requested to the Chief Secretary to the effect that orders/directions etc. issued by the Government in the interest of the working personnel to be considered with least delay. The Chief Secretary reportedly gave a patient hearing and has assured to look into the matter.
