Port Blair, Oct 13: The Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma has requested the Lt. Governor, Andaman and Nicobar Islands to organise an Orientation programme for all newly elected PRI members on the topics of roles and responsibilities of elected representatives.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, the Member of Parliament added that the Panchayat and Municipal Elections were recently completed in Andaman and Nicobar Islands in which PRI members have been elected for all areas.
He added that like every other election, in this election too it has been observed that a large number of young and hardworking PRI members have been elected to various seats and many among them have been elected for the first time.
To provide them with the right guidance about PRI regulation & PBMC Bylaws, the Member of Parliament requested the Hon’ble Lt. Governor to arrange an Orientation programme for all newly elected PRI members on the topics of roles and responsibilities of elected representatives.
He added that such Orientation programme will remain a guiding force for all PRI members for the rest of their life and it will ultimately benefit the general public.
