Port Blair, Dec 03: The A & N State Cooperative Bank, Prothrapur Branch organized a function today on the occasion of the World Disabled Day, Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, Vice Chairman was the Chief Guest on this occasion.
welcoming the gathering, Mr. Ravinder Rao, the Managing Director, ANS Coopt Bank stated that, this is the first time in the history of Cooperative Bank in AN Islands, world disabled day is being organized to honour the disabled persons of the area and the Bank has proposal to organize it in every year .
Mr. Rao stated that this programme is the brain child of Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma who has inspired the bank officials to organize it and to honor the disabled persons with flower bouquet, shawl and one thousand rupees each.
Adressing the gathering, Mr. Sharma stated that these disabled persons should never think themselves inferior in any respect as they are very important part of the society who show the world about their courage to lead a happy life like others.
Mr. Sharma said, “Apart from introducing pension card for door to door delivery of pension amount to the Handicapped, widow and old age. I am having a plan to send Doctors from April, 2012 who will attend the elderly persons at their door steps and give free medical services. And informed of a scheme of sending Nurses on getting calls from the hapless persons to get their blood and other samples for further investigation.”
Further, Mr. Sharma inspired all the handicapped persons to have loan from the bank as per their need to make them self sufficient. He has also stated that for a loan upto 25,000/- and no security will be asked from disabled persons.
In this occasion the General Manager, NABAARD and Branch Manager of the Bank also spoke few words for the disabled personnel. The handicapped personnel were overwhelmed with joy and told that the honor which they have received from the Bank and Mr. Sharma, the Vice Chairman, ANS Cooperative Bank will never be forgot by them and today they feel that they are really important person for and in the society.
Total eleven handicapped persons were honored by various dignitaries like Mr. Ghyas Meshak, Mr. Mohd Ali, Mrs. Tamilarasi, Mr. Sanjay Meshak, Mr. Chandrashekhar, Mr. Madan Lall and Mrs. Madhu.
Vote of thanks was proposed by Mr. K Murgan, General Manger of the bank.
