Port Blair, July 28: To pay tributes to the heroes of Kargil war and to celebrate the ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas’ the Member of Parliament of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Shri. Kuldeep Rai Sharma organised a mega event ‘Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani’ on Wednesday the 27th July 2022 at 9.30 am at Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology Auditorium, Pahargaon, Port Blair.
The theme of the event was focused on nurturing patriotism and inculcating national esteem on the occasion of the 75th year of Independence in line with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The program was also an opportunity for the school and college students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands to interact with the real heroes of Kargil war and other fields of sports as well as adventure.
Many renowned speakers from Mainland India addressed school and college students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The speakers were Sub. Maj. Gurucharan Singh,8 Sikh Battalion, Cdr. Abhishek Kankan, NM(G), AFV, Lt. Col Manoj Kumar, SM (Retd.), Archana Sardana, Mountaineer- Skydiver, Base Jumper- Deep Sea Diver, Mrs. G Priyadharshini, National President, Next Gen Political Leaders, Lt. Crd. Aishwarya Boddapati, NM (Retd.) and Aparajita Acharya, Lawyer & Author, D/o Maj Padmapani Acarya, MVC.
All the speakers shared their experience about their respective field with the students. They described the challenges they faced in life and how they managed to overcome the challenges and proved themselves as winners.
Welcoming the gathering the Member of Parliament said that we can learn a lot of things from men and women of the Armed Forces who are ready to sacrifice their life for the motherland. He expressed gratitude to all the guests from different walks of life, who reached Andaman on his invitation to inspire students of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
He said that he is fully confident that talented children of Andaman and Nicobar Islands will get inspired by the speech of special guests, who have achieved all success in their respective fields and set an example for millions to follow.
In the evening, the Member of Parliament organised a Patriotic Song Programme ‘Aye Merey Pyarey Watan’ for the jawans of Andaman and Nicobar Command, in which prominent singers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands offered musical tribute to heroes of Kargil war with patriotic songs.
Addressing Jawans of Andaman and Nicobar Command, the Member of Parliament said that this musical evening was his effort to do something for the brave soldiers of India, who have given everything for the motherland.
The Coral band led by Mr. Sujit Das and prominent singers of Andaman and Nicobar Islands presented songs during the event. The singers are Mr. C Aboo Baker, Mrs. Pallabi Das, Mr. Rajesh Ghosh, Mr. Abdul Samir, Mrs. Arunima Ghosh, Mr. Shailendra Singh, Dr. PK Mohd Nawaz, Dr. Avinash, Miss Priyadarshini, Mr. Waahid Shah, Mr. J N Raja (Raaj), Mr Rathin Roy, Mr. NH Anil Kumar, Miss Aamrapali Mitra, Mr. Arup Biswas and Mr. Mohd. Shamim mesmerized audience with their songs.
The Musicians who left audience spellbound are Mr. Sujit Das On Keyboard, Mr. Subrata Basak on Octapad and Drums, Mr. Raju in Dhol and Tabla, Mr. Avijit Biswas in Bass Guitar and Mr. Rahul Subba was in Lead Guitars.
