Port Blair, Jul 15: As a part of the ongoing programme of Mass Plantation drive for the fruit-bearing seedlings under the theme “Each One Plant One”, an inaugural function was organized on 15th July 2022 in which a ceremonial planting was conducted by Middle Andaman Forest Division in the campus of the office of the Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman, Rangat.
Dr.Satyendra Singh Dursawat (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, was the Chief Guest. He inaugurated the programme by planting saplings along with Mr. Satyaprakash Singh, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman, Dr. Nitin Shakya, Assistant Commissioner, Middle Andaman Rangat, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat, Rangat, ZillaParishad member, Bakultala and Rangat, who also planted fruit-bearing seedlings. Further, all Officers of the line department under the Rangat zone, PRI members and the general public were present in large numbers.
After that plantation of fruit-bearing seedlings was carried out in the Divisional Forest office, Rangat by Dr.Satyendra Singh Dursawat (IAS), Deputy Commissioner, N&M Andaman, Deputy Education Officer, Rangat, Pradhan of 03 Panchayats and Medical Officer, CHC Rangat.
The Chief Guest Dr.Satyendra Singh Dursawat, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the programme in context with the main objective to attain self-sustainability and complete nutritional security for the community through the programme.
Earlier Mr. Satyaprakash Singh, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer welcomed and briefed the gathering about the “Each One Plant One” campaign. A similar plantation drive was conducted by the staff of Rangat Range at St. Francis Catholic Church complex, Rangat in which students and teachers actively participated in the programme.
