Diglipur, June 13: The journey from Port Blair and Diglipur and vice versa is really gruelling- with pathetic road, delay due to vehicle ferry, accident prone road etc, and when one faces the problem to attend nature’s call in transit, the situation becomes intolerable.
Sharing the same sort of an ordeal, recently a passenger coming from Port Blair to Diglipur narrated how he and his family encountered this problem of attending nature’s call when they found both the toilet blocks onboard M.V. Lapati, a ferry boat placed for cross-channel ferry service in the Middle Strait Creek, was kept locked.
During such a long journey passengers need to attend nature’s call and this is the duty of Administration to provide adequate public toilets for passengers, even onboard vehicle ferries, but when the service is not available, passengers have to face great deal of inconvenience, the passenger added. He requested the Administration to look into the matter and redress the problem on priority.
