Port Blair, Jun 13: In continuation of the zero-tolerance policy against any kind of crime, PS Pahargaon staff have once again cracked a blind case of breaking of Axis Bank ATM at Bathubasti.
On 08th June 2022, a case vide FIR No. 92/2022 dtd 08/06/2022 U/s 380/427/511 IPC was registered at PS Pahargaon upon the complaint of Branch Manager, AXIS Bank, Bathubasti regarding the breaking of ATM and attempt to rob money from the ATM situated at Bathubasti.
In this regard, a team of PS Pahargaon led by SI Mohd. Rahil Islam, HC/Swapan Kr. Dey, PC/JagdishBabu, PC/Santosh Kumar Yadav, PC/FerozIkbal, PC/Suresh and HG(D)/Rohit Kumar under the supervision of Insp. Hari Narayan, SHO PS Pahargaon was constituted.
During the course of the investigation, the CCTV Footage of the Axis Bank ATM and several other CCTV footages of nearby areas were checked and analyzed. Due to sustained efforts and technical investigation, the culprit was identified as Mahesh Singh S/o Mr. Maran Singh (26) yrs, R/o Brookshabad and he was arrested on 12th June 2022.
Later, during sustained interrogation, he confessed his guilt of committing the crime to break the ATM and upon his confessional statement, the apparel which he had worn during the time of the incident was recovered. Besides, some cash was also recovered from him which he had stolen from the ATM Machine. The team cracked the blind case within a short span of 72 hours.
The entire investigation took place under the overall supervision of Mr. Abhishek Gupta, Dy. Superintendent of Police, SDPO, South Andaman.
