Port Blair, Jun 13: A SUV which was travelling from Rangattoday collided with an electric pole near Amkunj area,Nimbutala. It is alleged that the car was approaching at a high speed and the driver lost control which resulted in a major collision with the electric pole.
Luckily, the driver escaped with minor injuries and was brought to CHC Rangat for first aid.
The car collision has completely damaged the electric pole, due to which the electricity supply from Nimbutala to the Nimbudera region was disrupted and steps are taken to resume the power as soon as possible, sources said.
