Port Blair, Apr 18: The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Fishermen Congress Committee held a protest on 18th April 2022 at Bambooflat against fuel and LPG cylinder price hikes across the country. Protesters raised slogans and held banners against the central government.
Mr. TSG Bhasker, Chairman, Campaign Committee, ANTCC; Mr. V.K Abdul Aziz, President, DCC and President, Mr. B. Laxmi Narayan, A&N Fishermen Congress led the protest in the first leg under its “MehangaiMukt Bharat Abhiyaan” programme.
Protesters raised slogans and held banners against the central government. Empty LPG cylinders and vehicles were on display at the protest sites. Cylinders were garlanded in a bid to show that they were useless as people cannot buy gas cylinders.
Mrs. Mariyam Bibi, Zilla Parishad Member; Mrs. Rasheeda, Pradhan, Hope Town; Mrs. Naseem Banu, Pradhan, Bambooflat 02; Mr. Bablu, Pradhan, Bambooflat 01; Mr. Sundaram, Former Zilla Parishad Member along with all office bearers of Block Congress Committee and Fishermen Congress Committee were present at the protest.
