Port Blair, Mar 09: Women Cell of ICAR-Central Island Agricultural Research Institute, Port Blair celebrated International Women’s Day with the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow” on 08th March 2022.
The event was chaired by Dr. E.B. Chakurkar, Director of the Institute. He called upon the women participants to prioritize their life goals and to explore and strive for opportunities in the areas of their choice.
Dr. PoojaBohra, in charge of Women’s Cell, gave a presentation on the glorious achievements of Indian Women Scientists and presently available opportunities for female students to pursue their career in Science.
Three spot games for the participants were held coordinated by Dr. Deepitha R.P. and Dr. SirishaAdamala, Scientists of the Institute. Winners of the competitions were awarded on the occasion. The event was attended by Institute staff including contractual project staff.
