On this 73rd Republic Day, I extend my heartiest greetings to the people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and wish you all peace, prosperity and progress.
On this day, in 1950, India became a Socialist, Secular, Sovereign and Democratic Republic, guided by the principles of justice, liberty and equality. Our Constitution resolves to provide Justice, Liberty, Fraternity and Equality of status, assuring the dignity of the individual and unity and integrity of the Nation.
Republic Day reminds us of the sacred values enshrined in the Constitution of India, it is a day of national pride.
On this auspicious occasion, let us also remember the sacrifices and contributions of our founding fathers and great leaders of the country. I call upon the Islanders to maintain integrity and make a significant contribution towards the development of our Islands and also of our Nation.
May the spirit of our Constitution fill the air and devotion to the nation be the breath that sustains and inspires us
