Port Blair, Jan 10: The District Congress Committee President Mr. V.K Abdul Aziz has written a letter to the Chief Secretary, A&N Administration on Monday highlighting about the plight of residents of North & Middle Andaman due to non-availability of PBMC mortuary vans in the District.
In his letter, Mr. Aziz mentioned that, from past few months the poor people of North & Middle Andaman are finding it difficult to transfer the dead bodies of their near and dear ones because the private mortuary vans charge around Rs. 25,000, which is too expensive for a common man to bear.
Hence, he requested the Chief Secretary to provide PBMC mortuary vans for North & Middle Andaman for the ease of transportation of dead bodies so that the final rites of deceased can be done on time.
