Port Blair, Dec 19: Like any other water treatment plant, the Garacharma water treatment plant, under APWD is a restricted area but it has been reported by public of the area that there is no watchman or security personnel to guard the water treatment plant or to stop unauthorised entry.
The gate can be seen open and cattle can be seen grazing inside the campus of the water treatment plant. It seems that the said water treatment plant is having CCTV but CCTV cannot stop unauthorised entry.
Considering the security and safety of the water treatment plant, the residents of the Garacharma area are now demanding posting of a security guard for the plant.
