Port Blair, Dec 08: The District Child Protection Unit, South Andaman organised a programme on “Sensitization of Staff of Child Care Institution in handling Different Medical Ailments” on Wednesday in the Conference Hall of Seva Niketan (CCI).
The main aim of the program was to sensitize the staff of CCI to handle different ailments and respond to it in an appropriate manner. Dr. Nazma Siddiqui, Member- Child Welfare Committee was the Resource Person for the session. In her address she emphasized on various common diseases that a child may face and its instant remedy to handle such situations. She also informed the participants to identify the emergency situation and take proper consultation and advice of doctors from the nearby Health Institution.
Training was imparted to all the CCI In-charges by the Nodal Officer, ICPS on Individual Care Plan (ICP). The plan is prepared for each child in order to ensure the holistic development of the child. After evaluating the history of the child, a detailed plan is prepared covering all the aspects of physical, emotional and mental growth of the child, which is mandatory for all Child Care Institutions as per the Juvenile Justice Act (Care and Protection) Act 2015. The District Administration ensures to conduct such programmes time to time for the welfare of children.
