Port Blair, Nov 30: Framers of Campbell Bay protesting for the procurement of Copra at Minimum Support Price since last eight days today said that they will continue their protest till their demands of fulfilled.
As per information received on Monday, the farmers moved from Zero Point to the AC office of Great Nicobar and decided to continue their protest from the AC office.
Today a group of protesters earlier locked the AC office in protest and later when Assistant Commissioner reached Campbell Bay, they met with the AC and discussed their demands.
The AC reportedly assured the farmers that their demands will be fulfilled after a certain period but the protesters further demanded that the assurance has to be given in writing, after that only the protest will be called off. The AC allegedly refused to give any confirmation in writing.
