Maybunder, Nov 30: Shri. Jimut Bahan Biswas, Hon’ble Additional Sessions Judge, North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder has convicted one person namely Suranjan Roy R/o Nabagram, Diglipur on 29/11/2021 for committing gruesome murder of his wife in a daylight and Hon’ble Judge has sent him to judicial custody for reflection of mind for hearing of quantum of sentence.
On that fateful day, the lady victim who was living separately from her husband/accused while went out for her livelihood in a construction site situated at R.K Gram, near C.H.C Diglipur, the culprit with pre- planned motive suddenly appeared with sharped knife and stabbed her multiple injuries till she succumbed to her injuries.
Thereafter, on 30/11/2021 after hearing the convict as well as prosecution and defence side by the Hon’ble Additional Sessions Judge, the convict was sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for life for committing the said gruesome murder.
The Hon’ble Additional Sessions Judge, North & Middle Andaman District. Mayabunder also functioning as Special Judge under POCSO Act has disposed a fair number of criminal cases after trials in a noticeably short period of time, which have certainly generated a growing faith & believe among the general people towards the criminal justice system and rule of law of the land.
This day-light gruesome murder case was registered as FIR No. 49 of 2018. dated 11/04/2018 of PS Diglipur which investigated by Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav, former SHO, PS Diglipur and the entire prosecution case was conducted by Shri. Uttam Kirtonia, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder.
