Port Blair, Oct 24: As a part of “Clean India” Program 45 cadets of Naval NCC Unit undertook cleanship drive at Balidan Vedi – Martyr’s Memorial Homfraygunj, Port Blair under the supervision of SLt(ANO) Dr.Satyam Setia and PI staff of 1 AN Naval Unit NCC. The cadets also paid their homage to the martyrs. As a part of the event, the cadets were able to understand the sacrifices made by the 44 members of the Indian Independence League and INA who were arrested and tortured by the Japanese during their occupation of the islands from 1942-45. Lt Cdr Ankit Pant, Commanding Officer 1 (AN) NU NCC Unit praised the efforts and the enthusiasm shown by the cadets. He also reiterated the importance of Clean India Mission.
