Port Blair, Sept 03: The Andaman & Nicobar State Cooperative Bank Ltd., Port Blair and NABARD, Regional Office, Port Blair has jointly organised Awareness Programme on Menstrual Hygiene Sponsored by NAB Foundation, Mumbai on 03rd September, 2021 at Swaraj Youth Club, Haddo.
Mr. K. Murugan, Managing Director, A& N State Cooperative Bank Ltd., was the Chief Guest on the occasion in presence of Smti. Sangeeta Chand, Dy. Education Officer, South Andaman, Smti. Sujatha Sharma, Manager, NABARD, Smti. Shaban Banu, Asst. Manager, NABARD, Smti. Elgin Mary, GSSS girls, Smti. Dwipa Biswas, GSSS Delanipur, Dr. Shirlej Peter and Dr. Amrita Burma, Port Blair from ANIIMS, Bank officials and SHG members attended the programme.
At the outset, Smti. Elizebth Mary, Sr. Manager, A&NStCB, Port Blair welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
Smti. Sangeeta Chand, Dy. Education Officer, South Andaman has that the Education Department, A&N Administration also introduces Health & Hygiene programme in the middle and secondary schools. She further informed that the school of A&N Islands are procuring sanitary pad so that SHGs members may registered their names in the Education Department so that through SHG members department will procure.
Mr. K Murugan, Managing Director, A & N State Cooperative Bank Ltd., in his keynote address informed that the product “sanitary pad” is one and only product of the Islands which will exhibit and market the product through Exhibition cum sales counter. He further informed that the automatic pressure machine will be provide to SHGs members where there work will be complete on time and bank will bring new android app to market the products. The programme ended with vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Puspa Rani, Sr. Manager ,WDC, ANStCB Ltd.
