Port Blair, Sept 03: The newly formed Andaman and Nicobar Bhojpuri Samaaj celebrated its first raising day on 31 August 2021. The celebration was organised at Saraswati Shishu Mandir Prorthrapur, and limited number of guests were invited in view of the prevailing Covid situation. The function started with lighting of lamps followed by a two minute silence to pay homage to those who have lost their lives during the past one year.
Dr. A K Shukla Vice President welcomed the gathering and Mr. Dilip Kumar Pandey, General Secretary gave a detailed account of the objectives and activities of the Bhojpuri Samaaj. To motivate and involve the young generation, Essay competition and Poetry competition Was held and the winning Students were given a chance to read their articles. Mr. Jagdish Narayan Rai and Dr AK Shukla recited poems written by them. Bhajan mandali of Prorthrapur. presented Bhojpuri Geet.
In his presidential address Mr. Bhanu Pratap Yadav expressed that there is imminent need to re-establish our own traditional culture and shall learn from the mistakes from history which caused the decline and degradation of our Rich Culture and Heritage. He also expressed that Bhojpuri Samaaj is not bounded by state boundaries and considers all Bhojpurians as its members whether from any state of the country or from other nations. It is a broader concept as Bhojpuri language is being spoken in almost all the states of the country as well as many foreign countries.
He also highlighted that Bhojpuri Samaaj will provide platform and facilities to all needy Bhojpurians and Would extend financial support to the needy students for higher education including reservation of more seats in professional colleges in various states of the country. Dr Upendranath Chaudhary proposed the vote of thanks and assured that with the cooperation of people of Andaman Nicobar Islands, the Bhojpuri Samaaj will scale new heights in the coming years.
